RE: Non-Exempt Employee Change
Dear Customer Service Reps,
ABC Company values your service and appreciates that you have taken to the time to share your thoughts on the upcoming changes to your exemption status.
While we understand that this requires more work on your part, it is in no way a demotion or a sign that you are not values. With anticipated changes to FLSA laws, ABC Company has carefully chosen this avenue to reduce future negative impacts to you. Through this change and the requirement of logging hours, ABC company will also have more data on how best to serve and support our customer service department.
We are always striving to provide a comfortable work-life balance, while maintaining equity in all departments and we feel this change helps us meet that goal.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please reach out to HR.
Best,

Telecommuting Trouble. Within the marketing department, many employees have engaged in telecommuting. This helps them balance personal and work needs, particularly during times when the department is under tight deadlines due to new product launches. .
RE: Logging Hours – Telecommuters
Dear Graphic Design Team,
It has been brought to my attention that many employees are not logging all their hours as required by company policy. Non-exempt employees must log all their working hours, including any hours above 40. While we understand that many of you feel that working in excess of 40 hours is just part of the job, failing to log all your hours puts ABC Company at risk.
ABC Company enjoys offering telecommuting to our staff, an employee’s failure to log all working hours may result in the loss of telecommuting privileges.
If you have any questions about what hours must be logged each week, please reach out to HR.
Sincerely,
Missy Ortman
